LOOSE MINERAL SALTS - 50 SCOOPS

10x more salt content than Sea Salts

  • Magnesium is a macromineral that serves as an electrolyte in the blood, as an activator of hundreds of enzymes, and as a participant in muscle contractions. A normal diet can meet the Magnesium requirements of most adult horses in maintenance. Pregnant and lactating mares, young growing horses, and especially horses in moderate to heavy work have additional requirements for Magnesium.

  • Potassium is a macromineral commonly referred to as an electrolyte because it helps maintain the body's acid/base balance and hydration status. Since it is the main electrolyte involved in muscle contraction, the highest amounts of Potassium in the body are found in muscle tissue, including the heart.

  • Sodium is critical for normal nerve and muscle function, as well as transport of many substances (such as glucose) across cell membranes. There is very little Sodium in forages and grains, so it must be supplied separately. Because horses may not consume enough salt from a regular livestock block to meet their needs--especially in hot weather or during heavy exercise

  • The trace minerals found in Equine Elytes are bromide, cobalt, copper, iodine, iron, selenium, and zinc are needed to maintain healthy, productive horses.

Bromide is a key mineral used to treat minor gas colic in horses.

Diverse enough to be added into water or mixed in with feed.

  • This would be light but visible sweat. You should prescribe 30-60 grams a day into water and/or feed. One scoop measures 60 grams.

  • This would be dripping sweating. You should prescribe 60-90 grams a day into water and/or feed. One scoop measures 60 grams.

  • This would be extensive sweating. You should prescribe 90-120 grams a day into water and/or feed. One scoop measures 60 grams.

DIRECTIONS / MEASUREMENTS

Ensure your horse is ready to enjoy a trail ride or do well in competition.

A heavily exercised horse can lose as much as 10-15 liters of sweat per hour.

For horses in training and competition, it is important to replace these minerals as soon as possible, continual loads of sweat loss without adequate replacement can result in electrolyte imbalances that will lead to poor exercise performance.
